New name in wire thread inserts

Armstrong Precision Components is a new wholly owned subsidiary of Caparo Engineering.

On 15th May 2006, the business of Armstrong Fastening Systems, a division of Armstrong Fastenings, was acquired by Armstrong Precision Components, a new wholly owned subsidiary of Caparo Engineering.

The company will manufacture and sell wire thread inserts worldwide under the ArmaCoil brand name.

In addition, a range of brass inserts will be manufactured and sold as ArmaSert.

Previous trademarks HeliCoil and Dodge will not be used by the new company.

A total workforce of 52 with a commercial team consisting of nine people will continue to work out of Armstrong's previous premises in Hull and will initially manufacture the two core product ranges.

As the company grows it hopes to expand into other areas, but for the time being it will be concentrating on the ArmaCoil and ArmaSert inserts.

Armstrong Precision Components will continue to sell direct and through distributors.
