As part of its industrial launch of the AdventCR range, co-ordinate measuring machines designed to inspect and control assembled car bodies and subunits, ActiCM has set up a demonstration platform at its headquarters in Moirans, in partnership with ABB.

AdventCR is a 3D measuring system dedicated to production lines.

The combination of AdventCR and the IRB4400 robot allows both geometric control and surface point measurements, 10 times faster than any current CMM.

The six-axis robot enables great flexibility and variability of the measurement sequence.

The accuracy of the system is totally independent of the robot accuracy.

In addition, it is not necessary to paint or to put reflectors on the part to be measured.

ActiCM technology is a combination of advanced photogrammetry and powerful image processing.

This unique combination provides a high level of accuracy in the results obtained, whilst increasing the reliability and rapidity of controls performed on parts, organs or complex assemblies, both on and off the production line.

The software, jointly developed between ActiCM and ABB, guarantees a global communication between AdventCR and the IRB4400 robot versions S4C+ and IRC5.

The partnership between ActiCM and ABB offers a complete solution.

Since 1st May 2006 ActiCM has been welcoming the most prestigious names of the car industry, such as Renault, PSA and BMW - who were the first to show their interest in seeing a demonstration of this particularly innovative high-speed noncontact co-ordinate measuring system.
