Servos and steppers controlled with free software
Applied Motion Technology has launched its range of intelligent servo and stepper products by giving away the programming software.
These drives can be quickly and precisely configured using Applied Motions eXposition from a Windows PC.
When configured for pulse/direction mode, the two drives can be commanded by the step and direction signals available from many PLCs and step motor indexers.
In oscillator mode the two drives generate their own acceleration and deceleration profiles and are commanded by digital run/stop signals.
PLCs, mechanical switches, single board computers or other motion control devices can supply these signals.
Speeds may be fixed or can be set "on the fly" by 0 to 5V analogue signals.
This drive is suitable for sizes 11, 14, 17 and 23 stepper motors and can deliver up to 70W of power per axis.
