The RBS 020400 is a miniature tilt switch claimed to offer a major breakthrough in both price and reliability.

Operation of the switch is by tilting 15 degrees from the horizontal.

This movement causes a gold-plated contact ball to bridge across the electrodes closing the switch circuit.

Both the electrodes and contact ball are gold plated for extra life and reliability.

The switch body is manufactured in a copper alloy, which is then gold plated for greater environmental protection.

The switch has a body length of 8.6mm and diameter of 4mm.

Normal positioning is by using a cutout in a printed circuit board.

The switch is available from Active at a 1000-off price of GBP 0.18.

The switch has maximum ratings of 24V DC and 25mA, and has a life in excess of 100,000 operations.
