The UPX500 ultrasonic sensor has the advantage of an improved sensing distance with reduced housing size.

The UPX500 ultrasonic sensor has the advantage of an improved sensing distance with reduced housing size.

Detection distance is 50 to 170mm with an extremely narrow beam which helps with high repeatability and improved hysteresis.

(Short distance detection of 50mm is not normally available with ultrasonic sensors).

Good reflecting targets, as small as 10cm2, can be detected up to 150mm from the sensor head.

In addition a built-in potentiometer enables adjustment of the switching distance and sensors hysteresis.

Output can be supplied as PNP or NPN.

The sensor housing measures 46 x 30 x 18mm and is manufactured in glass-reinforced polymid with a stainless-steel sensing head to IP67.

Applications for these switches include detection and counting of objects in control, process and automated systems.
