The TANEWS1 is a novel sensor that detects the presence of liquid.

When the sensor's two probes detect the presence of liquid the fully enclosed circuit causes a reed switch contact, rated at 100V DC/0.5A/10VA to close and make a circuit.

The switch contacts will remain closed until the liquid drains away from the two sensor probes.

The sensor is fully protected from the ingress of liquids but is designed as a detector and should be normally kept dry.

The only mechanical part of the sensor is the reed switch so reliability is expected to be very good.

Liquids should be noncorrosive and in a temperature range +5 to +80C.

The plastic case size is 43 x 12 x 10mm, with two fixing slots and 1.8m of two-core insulated cable for easy fitting to an audible alarm or control system.
