WorkCover NSW will run free workplace safety workshops and give away thousands of information-packed compact discs at The Safety Show, Sydney, Australia.

The 10 free workshops, tailored for small to medium-sized business operators, will offer practical advice across seven areas: getting started with OHS and workers compensation; OHS for small and medium-sized businesses; workers compensation for small and medium-sized businesses; workers compensation reforms; dangerous goods legislation update; working safely with chemicals and hazardous substances; and working safely in construction.

Presented by experts from WorkCover's Business Assistance Unit, the workshops will be held on each of the three days of the Safety Show from 26 to 28 October 2005 at the Sydney Showground site.

In addition to the workshops, WorkCover, who is the principal sponsor of The Safety Show, Sydney, plans to make its prominent show stand a meeting point where visitors can 'talk safety' with experts and collect a powerful reference CD.

Containing more than 300 WorkCover publications on one convenient disc, the free 'Talk safety with us' CD includes guides to everything from amusement park safety to vehicle loading.

The CD also incorporates an interactive tutorial offering easy access to WorkCover's vast online resources.

Both the workshops and the CD are designed to provide businesses with a more straightforward path to workplace safety than ever before, according to WorkCover NSW.

To take advantage of the workshops at The Safety Show, Sydney, businesses are encouraged to register early via the show registration form, as numbers will be limited to allow for the practical, interactive format.

Otherwise, show visitors can talk safety with WorkCover NSW at stand D02 at The Safety Show, Sydney, which runs from 26-28 October 2005 at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, Australia.
