A speaker at the inaugural Queensland Safety Forum will take people through what happens after serious incident occurs

Serious incidents happen in workplaces everyday.

On Friday, Tony Morris, a speaker at the inaugural Queensland Safety Forum, will take people through what happens after serious incident occurs.

Morris, his team at The Brief Group, and Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI) Australia will be staging a mock trial in which a Queensland manager and his company face criminal prosecution, jail and fines following a serious workplace accident.

In addition, there will be a live presentation from a wheelchair-bound Alex Traill, an ambassador for SCI, who suffered a catastrophic incident at work.

Mr Morris says audiences can expect plenty of fireworks, sweat and tension as company executives and other witnesses face the rigours of cross examination.

Who:.

* Tony Morris is director of The Brief Group which is sponsoring the mock trial at the Queensland Safety Forum.

Mr Morris is a former Prosecutor who says the Mock Court will deliver a vital message to employers to be aware of the pitfalls of Occupational Health and Safety issues in the workplace.

* Alex Traill is an Ambassador for Spinal Cord Injuries Australia who fell from a ladder and broke his spinal cord at work.

Those few seconds of his fall changed his life and that of his family forever as Alex has been confined to a wheelchair ever since.

* Robert Goldrick is the Program Development Manager for Spinal Cord Injuries Australia and was integral in creating what he calls "a first in Australian workplace safety." SCI Australia is a not for profit organisation dedicated to creating an environment where all people can be fully participating members.

The Mock Trial will take place at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday, 23 June from 2pm to 4pm.

Interviews with Robert Goldrick, Alex Traill or Tony Morris may be arranged for Friday before the mock trial or ahead of time.
