Celebrities, hands-on demos, success stories, feature at Safety In Action.
Visitors to the tenth Safety In Action and Melbourne Materials Handling shows will take part in a series of innovative safety events, from a celebrity breakfast and first-hand safety success stories through to expert-guided tours of the 12,000 sqm trade shows The two co-located shows and concurrent Safety In Action Conference will run from March 20 to 22 this year at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre

Conference to explore the duty to consult
The Safety In Action Conference, to be held in Melbourne, Australia, has devoted a special interest stream to explore the new duty to consult under Victoria's Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Australians are not ready for disasters
Experts set to address this year's Safety In Action Conference in May have warned that Australians are not ready for a disaster like a terrorist attack or bird flu.
Visitors inspired by the success stories can also look to the trade show stage for hands-on interactive demonstrations by exhibitors presenting an up-close look at how the latest safety products work.
Meanwhile, specialist tours led by experts will guide visitors through the exhibition to examine developments in workplace wellness, spill control, machine guarding, height safety, forklift safety, and bulk handling.
WorkSafe's executive director, John Merritt, says Safety In Action provides an opportunity to learn more about workplace safety.
"The opportunity to check products and seek expert advice will help the majority of people who like to keep themselves up to date, which is important as it ensures efforts to reduce risks are constantly monitored," Mr Merritt says.
WorkSafe, the event's principal sponsor, will offer information and publications at its stand.
Finally, a day-long workshop on the implementation of revised machine safety standard, AS4024 will be held on the day following the conclusion of Safety In Action and Melbourne Materials Handling, Friday March 23.
Hosted by two of the committee members responsible for the revision of this key Australian Standard, it will take participants step-by-step though the standard, with practical tools to simplify implementation.
Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the 2007 shows and conference are expected to build on last year's record attendance of 12,129, which brought the total over nine years to 50,880 visits.
To mark the ten years and share ideas with their peers, safety professionals will gather at the Conference Dinner on Wednesday night.
