Queensland Safety Show is back and 30% bigger

The Queensland Safety Show will be 30 per cent bigger following the success of the inaugural event last year.
Returning to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from June 19 to 21, visitors will actually attend three concurrently held workplace safety events: the Queensland Safety Show, Queensland Materials Handling and the Queensland Safety Conference.
The two trade shows, Queensland Materials Handling and the Queensland Safety Show, will boast a combined 7,500 square metres of specialist safety products and services presented by over 200 exhibitors.
This year's conference is sponsored by the Department of Employment and Industrial Relations, Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) and presented by the Queensland and Northern Territory division of the Safety Institute of Australia.
Director-general of the Queensland Department of Industrial Relations, Peter Henneken, and WHSQ general manager Judy Bertram will be among the keynote speakers.
Special interest streams at the Conference include workplace wellness, practical safety management solutions, leadership, creating easy to use HSE models and national harmonisation - which recently became a topic of debate in the NSW election campaign.
The show's organiser, Australian Exhibition and Conference's Marie Kinsella, says the two shows and conference offered Queensland businesses the knowledge and tools needed to make workplaces safe.
"No matter what industry you're in there are health, safety and environment challenges to overcome," Ms Kinsella says.
"Spend a day or two at the Queensland Safety Show and you'll find answers to all of them, from asbestos management, construction, electrical, environmental, fire, materials handling and machine safety products through to services like auditing, first aid, rehabilitation and health screening".
The Queensland Safety Show, Queensland Materials Handling and the Queensland Safety Conference will run from Tuesday 19 to Thursday 21 June 2007 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
