Alpha Controls has introduced a new range of polyamide pneumatic valve actuators which provide a high degree of resistance to corrosive and other aggressive media

Certain liquids handling applications demand lightweight, yet corrosion resistant valves and actuators, for example brewing, water treatment, marine or similar underwater applications Whilst stainless steel might be the preferred material choice, the cost and weight of components made from such a material may be prohibitive in some situations

To meet this demand control specialists Alpha Controls has introduced a new range of polyamide pneumatic actuators which provide a high degree of resistance to corrosive and other aggressive media and are designed specifically for use with composite valves.

The Prisma range of actuators, which can be operated by air, water or non- aggressive fluid at pressures to 8 bar, offer excellent corrosion resistance, yet are a lighter and lower cost option compared to stainless steel.

These actuators are available as double acting and spring return models from 17 Nm, up to 167 Nm, constant torque and can operate within a temperature range of - 32C to 90C.

They are manufactured to meet ISO-5211, DIN-3337, VDE-3845 and NAMUR standards.

To ensure maximum operational flexibility the actuators can be equipped with limit switches, solenoid valves, positioners, security hand wheels and slip clutched gear boxes.

In addition a wide range of brackets and connection pieces enable the actuators to be mounted onto the majority of ball and butterfly valves.

Typical applications for Prisma actuators include water treatment, brewing, pulp and paper, textiles, refineries, irrigation, agrochemical industries or wherever lightweight, yet tough and reliable components are required.
