How NASA requirements for high strength in combination with low weight, maximum volume and a short design time forced Orbitec to turn to FEA from Algor
Neil Rothwell, a Cheshire, UK-based mechanical design engineer who consults for companies including Siemens, said, "Superview IV's high-resolution, OpenGL results viewing environment offers dynamic viewing that's fast.
The ability to create high-resolution plots is useful for presentations - an image plotted at 2000 x 1500pixel prints superbly.
Also, the option to define TrueType fonts for the legend box and annotations enables easy results reading".

Algor goes all the way with Windows 2000
Algor has announced that its entire Windows product line is Windows 2000 compliant.
This updated environment for model visualisation and results evaluation uses the Algor interface to provide a smooth, efficient workflow.
New features that improve the speed, convenience and variety of results viewing include: multiple-window capabilities for simultaneously viewing various result types as well as the pre-analysis model; 3-D dynamic viewing options provided by OpenGL-based displays; dynamic clipping planes that enable cross-section viewing of models; dynamic controls for customising the results legend, annotations and background images, including positioning tools and TrueType font options; predefined and user-defined colour palettes for result contours; mixed display options to show results only on specified parts while other parts are illustrated in their respective part colours; the capability to save all settings for a specific presentation in order to view it at a later time or to use the same settings with a different model; a slider control to dynamically adjust the scaled display of the deformed model; a slider control to customise the display of elements based on a lower or upper result limit; options for hiding areas of a model by selecting parts or elements and for shrinking elements; a right-click or menu-accessible inquire mode that displays load and constraint data or results from selected objects for copying and pasting into other applications; and a load combination utility enabling results from the application of multiple loads to be displayed simultaneously on the model.
Superview IV is now included in the Professional Static/LM, Professional PipePak, Civil and InCAD Designer core packages.
It is currently being implemented in all Algor analysis types.
