Software features improved results evaluation
A new version of Algor features extra result evaluation and presentation options; a new iterative solver; and new capabilities for mechanical event simulation, electrostatics and heat transfer.
GUI with right-click functionality
Algor introduces industry first graphical user interface with right-click functionality across entire software line.
"The new results evaluation and presentation options in Algor V14.3, including the new Monitor capability, have already saved me time during the iterative design process," said Tammy Gardiner of Metallurgical and Materials Technologies, a failure analysis and material testing consulting firm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
"The integrated monitor is very intuitive and has enabled me to click on a point in the model and immediately see a graph of results so that I can quickly identify changes for my next mechanical event simulation iteration".
"Also, the automatic annotation of minimum and maximum values is a real time-saver." "The continuing development of the Algor Fempro interface has made it faster and easier for me to set up and perform structural analyses," said Erick Liebl of Jasper Tank, a manufacturer in Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada that specialises in custom tanks for the transportation industry.

Algor has introduced technology that enables engineers to capture solid model data seamlessly from Cadkey mechanical design software in Algor software
"I appreciate that Algor has embraced the user-friendly Windows interface style that I am accustomed to".
"Working within a familiar environment enables me to spend less time learning the interface and more time performing analyses." "In keeping with our customer-driven product development approach, Algor is pleased to offer engineers capabilities that are proving to help them be more productive, including significantly faster solvers and additional results evaluation and presentation options," said Algor Product Manager Bob Williams.
"Accelerating the design process helps these engineers speed up time to market and make better, safer products at a lower cost." Algor V14.3 features new result evaluation and presentation options including: built-in, virtual instrumentation through an all-new monitor for time-dependent result plots; the ability to define result probes at desired locations; annotations to highlight the location of minimum and maximum results; the ability to display undisplaced models using transparency; the ability to display impact planes for MES; an embedded animation player; and automatic generation of result images for inclusion in reports.
Other enhancements include: an all-new iterative solver that significantly reduces the solution time of linear static stress, heat transfer, electrostatic and fluid flow analyses for mid- to large-size models such as CAD assemblies; improved contact capabilities for MES; a new spring element for MES with full, 3D visualisation; and temperature-dependent materials for electrostatic analysis; viscous heating capabilities for heat transfer applications such as extrusion, compounding and moulding.
