Amalgamated Instrument Co Pty has released a range of Australian made submersible pressure/level transducers.

Two types are available.

The AS420 range has a 4-20mA output and the AS100 range has a mV/V output.

The standard pressure ranges are 2.5mWG, 5.0mWG and 10.0mWG with other pressure ranges available to order.

The transducers offer excellent specifications over a wide range of temperatures with hysteresis, non-linearity and repeatability of 0.5% of full span.

The wetted material is 316 stainless steel and this offers superb chemical resistance in most applications.

It is still important, however, to determine the suitability of the transducer for the application.

The cable is encased in a rugged nylon tube.

A separate stainless steel cable assembly is included for support.

This means that the cable only carries its own weight.

The stainless steel support wire also provides a conductive path for surge protection etc.

The nylon tube acts as a vent to the atmosphere.

A special junction box is available and it is recommended to terminate the cable at the surface in this enclosure.

The enclosure provides positive moisture rejection with a unique molecular hydrophobic filter yet still allows access to the atmosphere for reference to the sensing element.

Terminal blocks within the enclosure allow for easy connection.

Because the transducers are Australian made, AIC can meet custom requirements for unusual applications.
