More capacity for complex parts

An AME Prototypes product story

Sheffield based AME Product Development Solutions has increased its machine capacity.

Sheffield based AME Product Development Solutions has increased its machine capacity.

The installation of the latest 3D Systems Viper si2 machine will further enhance the solutions offered by the rapidly expanding group.

The Viper si2 SLA System produces high precision, high definition and smooth surfaced, detailed parts.

These parts can be produced in approximately half the time, with little or no finishing required.

The great advantage of this to our clients is further reduction in lead times.

Parts that were virtually impossible to produce via standard SLA techniques, can now be made on the Viper.

A build resolution of 0.05mm produces complex parts that were previously impossible within the same timeframe.

The Viper combines standard and high-resolution part building in one system, offering a greater range of applications.

AME has the capability to produce in two differing types of resin, flexible and rigid, this enables parts to be produced that represent the end product more closely by replicating living hinge details, etc.

Managing Director Paul Howell commented that "not only has the installation increased capacity but it has also enabled greater flexibility with existing machine time".
