AME Design Solutions, the design consultancy division of AME Product Development Solutions has added a Thermojet solid object 3D printing equipment to its studios.

The Thermojet equipment will enable AME to produce accurate 3D components for clients to review at design progress meetings, and the substantial investment has been made to aid the design development process by assisting clients visualise designs as they are created and adapted.

Paul Howell, managing director, says, "It's quite simple for us to present clients with full colour images of their project, but unless they are able to see and feel it, it can be quite hard to visualise the end product.

We are aiming to make it simple for all concerned to visualise and review their component at any stage of the design process".

He adds, "An investment such as this will bring many benefits to our clients in terms of improving efficiency as well as reducing overall development costs.

The result is a better final product achieved within a reduced timescale".

AME Design Solutions has also made three new staff appointments to meet growing business - a new CAD designer, industrial designer and a mechanical engineer.

This brings the design resource up to a total complement of 15 staff.
