AME Prototype Solutions has recently teamed-up with Edinburgh creative group The Eleven Forty Company to assist in the delivery of a new luxury table football game, the Opus.

The Sheffield-based RP outfit worked alongside the client for 12 months while the table was in development - supplying the necessary prototyping requirements.

The Opus, which retails at GBP 40,000, is a highly exclusive and unique football table.

Each table is hand-crafted in a choice of stunning woods and stainless steel.

Using patent pending Doppleganger technology, the company is able to micro-cast 3D heads from photographs, and since its launch in June 2005 the Opus has attracted considerable interest.

AME Prototypes provided all of the 3D SLA heads which were built at high resolution to an accuracy of 0.05mm on a Viper SLA machine.

Although the final heads are micro-cast in polyurethane, it was important that the original prototypes were of a high accuracy in order to give a true reflection of the player heads.

The SLA heads provided by AME Prototype Solutions were a selection of footballing icons from the recent past - however, the technology employed allows Opus owners to bring extensive realism to the game by having the heads of friends in their dream teams if required.

Tim Wragg, Business Manager at AME Prototype Solutions commented: "The Opus table is a fantastic product, and it was also a fun project to work on".

"Projects with such a strong consumer appeal are not always part of the routine working environment - so this was interesting to be part of".

Ben Shaw, Director of The Eleven Forty Company commented: "We are delighted with the RP services that AME have provided throughout the development of the Opus".

"AME have consistently demonstrated flexibility and professionalism in their approach and delivered a quality product".
