Following the installation of a new SLA machine and with a move to new purpose built premises almost complete, HRH the Duke of Kent visited AME Prototype Solutions.

Sheffield based AME Prototype Solutions has capped an exciting few months with a Royal visit to its facility.

Following the installation of a new SLA machine and with a move to new purpose built premises almost complete, HRH the Duke of Kent visited AME Prototype Solutions recently, as his tour of South Yorkshire included a look at innovative companies within the region.

HRH had a tour of AME's rapid prototyping facility - as well as meeting members of the team and seeing some previous project work.

The Duke viewed all of AME's prototyping machines - including the recently added Accura Bluestone dedicated SLA 3500.

This new material enables the provision of prototype parts made from high-temperature, ceramic-filled resin - and was added to AME's service offering in July 2006.

Its superb rigidity is currently supplying a range of customers with particular needs for prototypes for use across high temperature applications.

The Duke also saw examples of parts built in Si50 which is an ABS like material.

While on a tour of the local area HRH also saw the site for the new AME Prototypes building.

The company are expected to complete the move by late 2006.

Ian Jones, Managing Director of AME Prototype Solutions commented: "It's an exciting time for AME with a significant number of new customers as a result of the new SLA materials we're running, as well as moving to our new premises very soon".

"It was an honour for AME to be visited by HRH who was clearly technologically aware and showed a genuine interest in and good understanding of our processes".
