AMOT thermostatic valves installed on trains

An AMOT product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 9, 2009

AMOT B Series thermostatic control valves have been installed on upgraded diesel trains after extended operation on Lithuanian Railways.

In the first round of upgrades at the Vilnus locomotive depot, the B Valves were mounted on four refitted trains and are reported to have operated efficiently for over 850,000km.

In 2004 the valves were again chosen in upgrades on a further eight diesel trains and a report from Vilnus reveals that the new valves operated reliably over an average distance of 1,000,000km per locomotive.

Other features of the AMOT B-Valve include its simple, low-cost installation with no external power source requirement and its 'fit and forget' feature of not needing user-setting.
