Amplicon's new NuPro 710 full size single board computer for Pentium III flip chip, incorporating an industry first AGP video controller with 8MB SGRAM memory which supports 3D movie and video images

Amplicon Liveline, the specialist distributor offering IT and Instrumentation for Industry, announces the brand new NuPro 710 full size single board computer for Pentium III flip chip, incorporating an industry first AGP video controller with 8MB SGRAM memory which supports 3D movie and video images.

Manufactured by Adlink, based in Taiwan, for which Amplicon is the principle partner in the UK, the company has extensive knowledge of the design of SBC's and PC plug in boards for industrial data acquisition.

This advanced SBC is well ahead of its contemporaries, featuring such a high level of video memory, where many others have a maximum of 2MB only.

Another important feature of the SBC is a well developed Intel 440 BX chipset, where Intel have promised long term support.

This makes the board ideal for system integrators, as in the knowledge of this support they can confidently design the board into their systems.

The device also supports Pentium III up to 700MHz, enabling use in demanding applications, as well as featuring an FC-PGA 370 pin CPU socket; M-Systems disk on chip socket for up to 144MB and three DIMM sockets for up to 768 SDRAM.

The single board computer has undergone HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Test) and HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screening).

These tests, carried out in the design and production cycles respectively, allow the board to be used in applications where extended temperatures and vibration are everyday occurrences.

The NuPro 710 is suitable for use where there is a heavy video demand, ideal applications therefore being industrial or mission critical applications with a heavy graphics requirement.

These could include machines such as video kiosks or gaming machines with heavy multimedia industrial image processing applications.

Its on board video controller makes it highly reliable in comparison with those boards which have a separate video board As with all other products offered by Amplicon, the company provides full pre and post sales support for the computer.

The device is CE marked for the EMC directive and operates in the temperature range 0 to 60C.
