Matlab driver for acquisition and
control boards
Amplicon Liveline is now offering a Matlab driver for its PowerDAQ acquisition and control plug-in boards for the PCI bus, allowing users to conduct experiments directly from the Matlab command line
Amplicon Liveline, the sole distributor for UEI PowerDAQ products in the UK, has announced that it has joined the elite group delivering a Matlab driver for its PowerDAQ family of acquisition and control plug-in boards for the PCI bus Matlab, the flagship product from The MathWorks Ltd (Cambridge), has long enjoyed a reputation as the leading data-analysis and visualisation tool among scientists and engineers involved in disciplines as diverse as control-systems design and signal processing

The PCI224 and PCI234 PCI bus analog output boards are high performance plug and play boards costing less than most comparable "low-cost" boards.
Large displays offer 50 or 100mm high LEDs
Designed to enable displayed data to be read over long distances, the BDF series are large four or six digit displays with 50 (2in) or 100mm (4in) high LEDs.
To assist those users who want to work with real-world data rather than simulations, The MathWorks developed The Data Acquisition Toolbox, which interfaces with data acquisition and control hardware from major suppliers around the world.
Each copy of the PowerDAQ Software Suite CD-ROM available from Amplicon comes with an installation utility that loads the required toolbox adapter file onto the user's system.
Users can create sophisticated applications based on M-files, complete with graphical-user interfaces, as well as conduct experiments directly from the Matlab command line.
In addition, these I/O resources are available to users who elect to work with other tightly integrated add-ons such as the Control Systems Toolbox, the System Identification Toolbox, the Signal Processing Toolbox, and the Wavelet Toolbox.
With this combination users can easily automate the process of collecting data, performing a sophisticated analysis with the most advanced tools on the market, and either display results in a user-friendly fashion or even create a response signal and send it out through the same I/O board.
Thus the Data Acquisition Toolbox 2 combines some of the most sophisticated analysis and visualisation capabilities on the market with Amplicon's range of advanced analogue and digital I/O hardware from UEI.
The PowerDAQ Matlab driver works with all of the PowerDAQ series boards available from Amplicon, and it comes at no charge on the PowerDAQ Software Suite CD-ROM that ships with each card.
