High output current densities on power
units
Two new CompactPCI power units use patented technology to deliver very high output current densities and have many features designed to support hot-swap redundant applications
Amplicon has recently introduced two new CompactPCI power units to its already comprehensive range Designed in 3U high x 8HP wide chassis, both units use Power-One's patented Efficient Dual Geometric Edge (EDGE) technology

"Plug and Play" PCI Analogue Output Boards
The PCI224 and PCI234 PCI bus analog output boards are high performance plug and play boards costing less than most comparable "low-cost" boards.
This technology allows very high output current densities, offering 5Vdc or 3.3Vdc at 40amps on the main rails plus a further +12Vdc at 5.5amps and -12Vdc at 1.5amps.
The units are available with a Power Factor Corrected universal input (type CPA) or a dc/dc input of 36-75Vdc (type CPD).
With an efficiency of over 80%, the supplies have many features designed to support hot-swap redundant applications.
Connections to the host chassis are via a standard Positronic 47-pin connector.
The front panel has both input and output voltage status LED's, and interface signals include inhibit, power fail and temperature warning.
The 5Vdc, 3.3Vdc and +12Vdc rails all have remote sense, current sharing facilities and are fitted with the FET equivalents of ORing diodes.
All units operate from 0 to 50*C with 250LFM of cooling air.
The CPA/CPD CompactPCI units meet CE for LVD, and EMC standards, and a 6U version will shortly be available for those users of the larger chassis.
