Re-enforcing its expertise in professional computing, Amplicon has designed and manufactured two new low power series to add to its established Ventrix range The 2000LP and 4000LP are both available in versions with long life, powerful, Pentium M or cost effective Celeron M processors

The 1.8GHz Pentium M versions offer identical performance to a Pentium IV 2.5GHz processor, and the Celeron M 1.3GHz provides the equivalent to a top-end Pentium III processor.

The Ventrix 2000LP series is a 2U rack-mount industrial PC system designed for harsh environments, providing low power and high performance.

Like all of Amplicon's Ventrix systems, each model can be customised to the end user's needs.

Both have three full-length PCI, one half-length PCI and one full-length ISA expansion slots, and the systems are easily maintained and upgraded.

They offer a significant reduction in power consumption and thermal emissions, and are ideal for any application where power saving is a requirement.

The 4U rack-mount Ventrix 4000LP units are reliable, long life, high performance industrial PC systems, offering many of the same features as the 2000LP models, with the added support for onboard dual LAN - 10/100Base Tx and 1Gigabit - and shock mount drive bays.

In addition, with extensive PCI and ISA expansion capabilities, it is possible to specify a system with up to 12 PCI expansion slots or both ISA and PCI slots, again easily customisable.

Jon Hutson, Amplicon's Professional Computing Product Manager, commented: "We have drawn on our expertise in the professional computing arena to design and manufacture systems that will fill a gap in the market".

He continued: "I believe that the facility to customise our Ventrix systems, combined with the wide range of additional solutions and services we offer customers, is giving end users the most flexible approach to their applications".

Electroplated for long term protection against corrosion, the Ventrix LP series' are shipped with a "1+2" warranty package - where year 1 is UK onsite next business day support, and years 2 and 3 are return to base.

The systems also come with an extensive burn-in test report.
