Large indicators display time

An Amplicon product story

Amplicon's new displays include clocks and counters that show information in hours, minutes and seconds.

Amplicon has expanded its BDF range of displays to include large indicators for displaying and counting time.

Previously available for displaying process readings and serial commands, the new additions include clocks and counters that show information in hours, minutes and seconds.

Designed for applications such as factory line monitoring, the BDF range of large displays is available with either four or six digits and a choice of 57 or 100mm high LEDs.

The size of these LEDs enables the reading on the displays to be seen at much greater distances than conventional 1/8-DIN panel meters, with the digits formed by 100mm LEDs clearly visible from a distance of over 40m.

The BDF range is available with signal conditioning suitable for measuring process signals such as volts, mA or temperature from a variety of industry standard sensors.

A range of counters is available for counting pulses or frequency from a flow meter or mechanical contacts.

An indicator that will display ASCII characters (from a computer or converted from binary coded decimal) is also available, enabling messages to be displayed such as a vehicle's route number at a specific loading bay.

The BDF large displays are mains powered and can be supplied with either red or green LEDs.

IP65 enclosure versions are also available when protection from water is needed.

John Hayward, Product Manager for Amplicon's Measurement and Control division, commented: "The addition of these new displays means our range is even more competitive whatever the form, fit, functionality or budget".

"The large size and high visibility of these displays enables them to be viewed by many users simultaneously at distances of over 40m".

"This opens up applications in many environments from sports venues, radio and TV stations to canteens and military installations - any situation where people need to share time-related information".
