Industrial computer partnership announced

An Amplicon product story

Amplicon has entered into a partnership agreement with Western Digital (WD).

Amplicon has entered into a partnership agreement with Western Digital (WD).

The partnership with WD is seen as key to the continuing success of the Amplicon industrial computer range.

WD's multiple hard disk drives (HDD) are used in all Amplicon industrial computer systems including the newly launched 'Windows Vista Ready' and 'Intel Core 2 Duo' systems.

The design and quality of these HDDs help to ensure the robustness, versatility and 99.98% reliability achieved by Amplicon industrial computers.

Following the launch of Windows Vista, the minimum system storage requirement is now 15GB of free space for a successful Vista installation.

The top of the range HDD is the WD Caviar 500GB, which has a 16Mb buffer and a SATA 300 interface.

WD Caviar HDDs run more quietly and at a lower temperature (36C) than many currently available HDDs.

With high-density platters, performance is also optimised.

"It is important to select high-quality industrial components with long life-cycles in order to build quality industrial computer systems".

"I believe Western Digital is the right partner for industrial hard disk drives", commented Leon Mengot, Product Manager for the Industrial Computing Group at Amplicon.

"This partnership clearly establishes the commitment Amplicon has to underlining its position as the leading UK provider of industrial computing solutions".

Yemi Elegunde, Sales Manager at WD commented: "It is important for Western Digital to support partners such as Amplicon who can clearly demonstrate their pedigree as providers of leading-edge industrial PCs".

All Amplicon industrial computers are manufactured in the UK and come with a three-year warranty as standard.

Application support and post sales technical assistance are also delivered from the UK.
