Amplicon introduces switch and media converter

An Amplicon product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 28, 2009

Amplicon's Data Communications Group has expanded its ANE range of low-cost Industrial Ethernet switches with the addition of an all-Gigabit switch and media converter.

The ANE-401G is an entry-level 'all gigabit' four-port switch and media converter in one.

It is suitable for connecting high-bandwidth devices in harsh environments due to its -40 to 75C operating temperature and shock and vibration approvals.

IP CCTV and high-speed data acquisition applications are two primary targets for the ANE-401G.

The product has one SFP slot for fibre-optic connectivity using multimode or single-mode SFPs for 1000 Base SX or 1000 Base LX communications.

Fibre can be used in long-range (greater than the standard 100m limit of Ethernet) or EMI-sensitive applications.

The unit is supplied with DIN-rail and wall-mount brackets.

A ranging 12 to 48Vdc input provides flexible powering options and an alarm output provides an out-of-band alert if a cable is unplugged or one of the redundant power inputs fails.
