Demonstrating compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations (EAWR) - a mandatory requirement for all industrial and commercial users of electricity - is now an easier, faster and less costly task, thanks to the latest range of software packages from Amtech.
Amtech's software features a comprehensive preloaded library of manufacturers' data for circuit breakers, cables, busbars, transformers and other major items of equipment.
This, combined with the powerful report generation facilities of the software, makes it especially easy for users to document their electrical installations in detail - an essential step in demonstrating EAWR compliance.
For many users, Amtech's versatile CableMaster package is the ideal choice for compliance applications.
This package is designed specifically to help with meeting the requirements of BS7671/IEC364, and to be straightforward in operation.
Users simply sketch out a schematic diagram on screen, then add data such as cable length, type and installation method.
The software then automatically carries out all of the necessary calculations to verify the design.
CableMaster can then print a full range of reports, including schematic diagrams, which form the required documentation for the installation.
The need for complicated calculations and fiddly form filling is entirely eliminated, along with the requirement to search for long-lost manufacturers' datasheets for the installed equipment.
A particularly useful report highlights potential problems within the installation, allowing the necessary remedial work to be swiftly taken so as to ensure that legal obligations under the Electricity at Work Regulations are met.
CableMaster is complemented by other Amtech programs which make it easy, for example, to produce inspection and test certificates in standard formats, and to carry out detailed protection studies in HV and LV systems.
