CAD package is exclusive to electrical engineers
ElcoCAD is a new and innovative purpose designed CAD package exclusively for electrical engineers.
A new harmonics module takes account of the third harmonics on networks, automatically calculating neutral current and resizing cables where necessary.
A new find feature allows users to quickly find any electrical component (cables, boards etc) used in the design.
The software contains a massive database of protective devices, cables and busbars, there are now over 15,000 protective devices available.
A new protective device selector has been included which can now search the devices by manufacturer, family, type, protection and rating making it quick and easy to select the device required.
With such a selection users are confident they have the correct device for the job, no need to use inaccurate generic data.
This is even more important with the amount of adjustable devices now being used.
Correct device selection has never been easier.
In addition Amtech has made the software more intuitive and easier to use with a new look and feel.
Everybody works in a slightly different way so this is reflected in the software, the new work area can now be customised to suit individual preferences.
Users can choose which items to display on the schematic diagram, choose the look of the drawing background and configure the colours of the environment to suit individual requirements.
Ian Selinger, Head of Amtech Technical Support says: "These customisable features are important to the user.
Every major upgrade we produce is as a result of listening to our users and responding to their needs.
The software must work for the engineer not the other way round, it is important that the user is comfortable with the look and feel of the work environment and that the software is easy and intuitive to use.
Our aim at Amtech is to always produce software that is 'engineer friendly' and we have built upon this with the new 2004 version".
FastTest, Amtech's test and inspection package has not been left out.
The new 2004 version adds even more certificates to the range plus many more valuable features.
There is also a new mobile version for the Pocket PC.
To accompany the launch of the 2004 version, Amtech is giving away copies of its new product guide for electrical contractors and engineers. Request a free brochure from Amtech Power Software ...
