NES updates Specification Expert

An Amtech Power Software product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 22, 2009

The 2009 version of Specification Expert from NES combines higher functionality with significant enhancements to the content.

In addition, user-interface improvements save time and increase productivity.

Specification Expert is a specification-compiling program for use in generating building-services specifications and for producing operation and maintenance manuals.

In the latest generation, sharing information is even easier, with refinements in the 'publish to PDF' facility, publishing of equipment schedules and handling of images.

Window docking and hour-glass indication have also received an upgrade.

There are also new guidance notes on sustainability and renewable issues, such as drivers for change, overall performance targets and environmental issues.

References to new and updated British Standards include BS 9999:2008 code of practice for fire safety in the design, management and use of buildings.

In addition, pre-edit questions have been reviewed for the self-contained sections.

Clauses on fire and smoke dampers have been revised to suit the latest test requirements.
