Hands on seminars will reveal how AMAP can provide assistance to businesses - from regional SMEs to international organisations - in design, production, plant or procurement and applying digital technologies.

Each five-hour seminar will reveal how AMAP can provide assistance in design, production, plant or procurement and applying digital technologies.

Delegates will discover how their organisations can become more innovative, incorporating design and best practice.

Based at the University of Sunderland, the Institute for Automotive and Manufacturing Advanced Practice (AMAP) is a "reach out" department engauged in the project management and delivery of regional, international and commercial projects.

In parallel, the Digital Factory is a project funded by One North East and operated in conjunction with the North East Productivity Alliance (NEPA) to provide local industry with: training and skills development related to digital engineering; help with understanding and adoption of relevant digital tools; and assistance with justifying and implementing solution.

The seminars offer is an excellent opportunity to touch and feel SolidWorks in a structured environment.

More importantly it is a prerequites to any Solidworks Essentials Training Course.

Each student will be provided with their own computer during the training.

When they leave they will have the basic skills necessary to create a simple part, work with an assembly and create a drawing.

Seminars will be held on 8th and 22nd September 2006.
