Redesign for legendary smart motor

An Animatics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 14, 2005

The SM1720D SmartMotor has been redesigned and cost reduced to use the same industry-standard connectors that are available with the company's other SmartMotors.

The SM1720D, one of Animatics' most popular offerings in its Legend Series SmartMotors, has been redesigned and cost reduced to use the same industry-standard connectors that are available with the company's other SmartMotors.

It now features the company's double D-sub connector with a 15-pin d-sub I/O and a 7-pin combo D-sub power and I/O.

The new connector provides more robust construction, better resistance to harsh environments, and better compatibility with existing systems.

The SM1720D SmartMotor offers a compact size, fully integrated motion control capability, and the flexibility to meet the most challenging motion control requirements.
