Arc Energy Resources has reported a 15% increase in turnover for 2005, almost doubling last year's growth figure to achieve a turnover of GBP 2.3 million.

The rise includes the largest single order in the company's 11-year history - a GBP 300,000 contract to supply specially clad components to an international manufacturer of subsea equipment.

Commenting on Arc Energy's sustained growth, Managing Director Alan Robinson says demand for the company's special weld overlay cladding and fabricating skills remains strong in its traditional oil and gas market, with a substantial increase in enquiries coming form existing customers and a 20% rise in enquiries from new customers.

He adds that direct exports now account for between 10% and 15% of sales, and a significant additional proportion of the company's turnover is shipped overseas by UK customers supplying export contracts.

To cope with the extra work Arc Energy has employed extra staff during 2005, including a new QA and welding engineering manager, three more skilled welders and four new support staff.

A further 560m2 of space has also been acquired to create dedicated production centres for its core fabrication and weld overlay cladding businesses.
