Anders announces latest display platforms

An Anders Electronics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 15, 2009

Anders Electronics has announced the addition of two display platforms to its UMR 5 Series product line.

The 3.5in QVGA and 4.3in WQVGA TFT display platforms are designed to help make integration of colour displays with touch screen and additional embedded functionality more accessible for manufacturers.

The display components in these latest UMR 5 Series intelligent displays are amorphous silicon TFTs with LED backlight, produced by tier-1 manufacturers and featuring guaranteed long lifetime availability, mainstream form factors, high-end optical characteristics, and optional touch-screen functionality.

Pre-integrated with an optimised, multi-functional embedded system, the intelligent displays let manufacturers avoid the hassle of selecting display controllers, designing backlight and power supply circuits, sourcing specialised connectors, setting software registry values, or facing any of the multitude of challenges associated with integrating a next-generation display.

The UMR 5 Series embedded system features PXA270 Intel XScale architecture, ARM5TE ISA with WMMX extension, options of 312MHz or 520MHz clock speeds, 64MB or 128MB SDRAM, 128MB or 512MB NAND FLASH, IC, SPI, GPIO, serial ports, Ethernet ports, a USB port, and more.

Anders intelligent displays support the design and animation functionality found in cutting-edge consumer devices thanks to the company's UMR IDS (Interface Development Suite), which includes a desktop interface builder and on-board runtime vector graphics engine.

UMR 5 Series development kits are available now, which include a 60-day free evaluation of the Anders UMR IDS (Interface Development Suite).
