Of the around 200 British exhibitors, more than one-third will be exhibiting at Achema for the first time in Frankfurt on 15th May.

Two months before the opening of Achema 2006 in Frankfurt on 15th May, exhibitor numbers are demonstrating positive trends.

Despite the impact of mergers and acquisitions in the chemical processing industry over the past three years, almost 3800 exhibitors have already booked space, and the final total is expected to match or exceed the 2003 figure of 3819.

Space bookings from companies from outside Germany are already at a record level of 1650, an almost 10% increase over the previous high.

Organisations from 47 countries will be represented at the exhibition.

Of the around 200 British exhibitors, more than one-third will be exhibiting at Achema for the first time.

Apart from the UK, a steady growth in exhibitor numbers has been seen from USA, Italy and France, but the major impact is from India, China and South Korea with increases in the 50 to 100% range.

In all, almost 250 exhibitors from the Asia-Pacific region will be showing their products and services at the event.

Endorsing the truly international nature of Achema, the associated congress has around 800 technical papers presented by speakers from 30 countries and five continents.

While it is too early to assess the likely visitor numbers, a figure of around 200,000 can be projected, with at least 50,000 from outside Germany.
