Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 10, 2005

Analytical Sensors and Instruments has promoted Brian Williams to Executive Vice President of North American Operations and General Manager of the company.

Analytical Sensors and Instruments (ASI), a high technology company focused on commercialising and supplying chemical sensors and related electrochemical products to OEMs, today announced the promotion of Brian Williams to Executive Vice President of North American Operations and General Manager of the company.

Prior to his promotion, Williams was ASI's Director of Sales and Marketing and he succeeds the company founder Peter Cai, who will retire later this year.

Williams joined ASI in March 2000 as an OEM Accounts Manager.

Since that time he has been promoted to Sales Manager and then to Director of Sales and Marketing.

"I am pleased to announce that Brian will now head-up ASI as its VP of North American operations", said Peter Cai, ASI's founder and President.

"Since I opened the company in my garage 16 years ago, ASI has grown to two factories with over 31,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity to meet the growing needs of our OEM customers".

"I welcome the opportunity to continue to grow ASI into one of the leading companies supplying chemical sensors to OEMs worldwide and to continue the push into new markets", said Brian Williams, ASI's GM and VP of North American Operations.

"My immediate focus will be to streamline manufacturing at our US and China facilities; to implement shipping improvements between the US and China facility that improves product arrivals, timing and cost control; and to integrate engineering efforts in the US and China facilities".

"I also look forward to expanding our line of new sensors".

"Current new product development at ASI includes a universal chlorine sensor that can be used with a multitude of meters and an optical dissolved oxygen sensor that will begin our entry into the optical sensors market", he added.

Williams holds a BS in chemistry and psychology from Stephen F Austin State University and is currently studying for an MBA from the University of Houston.

He expects to graduate in December of this year.
