Sensor monitors chlorine

An Analytical Sensors and Instruments product story

Applications for free-chlorine sensor include monitoring chlorine in swimming pool water where the use of oxidation-reduction potential sensors are currently used to monitor the chlorine levels.

Analytical Sensors and Instruments has introduced its free-chlorine sensor for end-users and OEMs in various industries.

Applications of the chlorine sensor include monitoring chlorine in swimming pool water where the use of oxidation-reduction potential sensors are currently used to monitor the chlorine levels.

In addition, this electrode is popular in water and wastewater applications.

Designed with a removable and replaceable membrane cap to extend the life of the sensor and allow easy maintenance, the free-chlorine sensor can measure free chlorine down to 0.1 and up to 10 parts per million.

With an on-board circuit, this sensor can be connected to any analytical mV meter, removing the need to buy specialty equipment designed to work only with free-chlorine sensors.

The sensor can be converted to measure total-chlorine with a simple switch of the membrane and electrolyte and comes standard with a temperature sensor to allow auto-temperature correction.

Also announced is an aluminium electrode arm for use in laboratory measurements, titrations and hands-free operation.

The five-position holder can accommodate electrodes from all electrode vendors and was developed to meet the needs of a growing analytical industry for hands-free sensor or electrode operation.

The company can customise the electrode arm for other uses on an OEM basis, such as a camera mounting stand.
