Ansoft Corporation has announced the availability of the popular Harmonica and Symphony products for Intel-based Red Hat Linux versions 6.1 and 6.2 Corporate interest in Linux includes Sun Microsystems, Hewlett Packard, Compaq Computers, AMD, and Dell Computers

"Linux leverages the stability, security, and interoperability of UNIX with the cost-effectiveness of PC hardware," said David Vye, Product Marketing Manager, Circuit and System tools.

"The power and flexibility of Linux has produced a growing demand for supported products." Linux is becoming popular among research centres where Ansoft's products are widely used in advanced development efforts.

Linux is also widely used in universities where Ansoft already has a strong presence through its University Program and free student version software.

Linux support, in addition to these other programs, greatly benefits the next generation of communication systems designers currently developing their engineering skills.
