Nagatomo takes charge in Japan

Anderol has announced the appointment of Tatsuo Nagatomo to the position of Vice President and General Manager in Japan.

Anderol has announced the appointment of Tatsuo Nagatomo to the position of Vice President and General Manager in Japan.

The company has also announced the retirement of Yasuo Okada as General Manager in the region.

Nagatomo will be based in Anderol's Japan office in Osaka, succeeding Okada who has served as General Manager since May 2003.

Bringing many years of experience and in-depth knowledge of the Japanese marketplace to Anderol, Nagatomo will be responsible for planning, developing and directing efforts for increasing brand exposure of Anderol branded products in the region.

He will be actively involved in seeking opportunities for driving brand awareness locally, and co-ordinating activities of research and development, purchasing and distribution.

Prior to joining Anderol, Nagatomo spent 25 years in technical sales and marketing of industrial products at Mobil Sekiyu/Exxon Mobil.

He holds a bachelor of science degree from Waseda University, Japan.

Nagatomo's appointment comes on the heels of significant growth in Anderol's global operations.

The company recently opened an office in Greater China, demonstrating its commitment of providing global customers considerable access to innovative lubricant technology.

With production and warehouse facilities strategically located worldwide, Anderol is able to efficiently meet the needs of its diverse customer base in wide-ranging applications such as air compression, aviation, food and beverage, military, mining, oil and gas and power generation.

As one of Anderol's most experienced executives, departing general manager Okada has played an important part in facilitating the company's drive to expand globally.

He spearheaded several important projects that set the stage for further growth in the Japanese market.

During his long and industrious career, he has held many senior level positions in sales, corporate planning, general management, logistics planning, start-up of new organisations, project development, material engineering and sales management.
