Raymond has the developed a series of stock and customised mechanical spring struts manufactured from engineered corrosion-resistant stainless-steel components and offered with a variety of end configurations, load and stroke options.

The Raymond brand name is already internationally recognised for the high quality and reliable performance of its range of industry-proven coil and nitrogen gas die springs.

Now, the company has taken a further innovative step forward, applying its established advanced coiled spring technology to the development of a series of stock and customised mechanical spring struts.

Initially a compression range of Raymond mechanical struts is being introduced manufactured from engineered corrosion-resistant stainless steel components and offered with a variety of end configurations, load and stroke options.

Raymond mechanical struts have been designed specifically for those applications where the use of conventional gas struts is inappropriate either because of the demands of an exceptionally harsh operating environment, or because of the unacceptable risk, however small, of cylinder degassing.

With no internal gases or seals, the inherent safety of these latest low-friction Raymond products make them ideal for use within a wide range of industry sectors, including: medical, nuclear, pharmaceutical, chemical, defence, marine, agricultural and construction.

They conform to the stringent construction and operational criteria of America's FDA.

These new long-lasting maintenance-free mechanical struts are intended for those applications that require the continuous provision of load lift or counterbalance, motion control, shock and vibration dampening.

They are equally effective in a research laboratory or field application being resistant to environmental contamination, temperatures up to 400F, high humidity, corrosive atmospheres or degradation due to prolonged continuous operation.

Currently under development are further additions to the robust range of Raymond mechanical struts - a full line of extension and dampening models.

However these and other products in the range are all available custom-built similarly design and assembly or kitting adjoining hardware are very much part of Raymond's comprehensive bespoke customer service.

Raymond mechanical struts are available in the UK from Associated Spring.
