The Power Conversion sector of Alstom has opened a purpose-built training facility at its head office in Rugby, ensuring that customers maximise the benefits from all Alstom products, including its ranges of drives and PLCs Called the ALSPA Academy, the training facility allows students to greatly increase product familiarity, thereby boosting their confidence in handling Alstom equipment

By helping engineers to improve their knowledge of Alstom products, they can use the equipment to their best advantages.

Furthermore, by learning to recognise potential faults, plant downtime can be greatly reduced should a problem occur in the workplace.

All new products manufactured by Alstom come with a free half-day training course at the Academy.

Boasting three fully equipped training rooms, the ALSPA Academy features the latest equipment including a Dynamic Positioning simulator and a range of operational drives and PLCs.

Staffed by fully qualified engineers holding technical tuition certificates, the ALSPA Academy's dedicated training suites and workshops allow safe, hands-on learning.

Courses can be delivered to suit operators, development engineers and maintenance technicians alike.

Tailor-made courses can also be arranged for customers who need to mix and match a range of tutorials that cover different Alstom control devices.

For customers who cannot access the ALSPA Academy in Rugby, then Alstom will make use of its portable training equipment and arrange a training course at a customer's site instead.
