RedHat Next Generation is a new line of solenoid valves claimed to set new industry standards for reliability and power consumption.

RedHat Next Generation is a new line of solenoid valves claimed to set new industry standards for reliability and power consumption With new power management technology and robust advanced electronics, the valve accepts both AC and DC voltages while improving performance

Its 2W power consumption achieves the same performance as a 17W AC solenoid valve.

DC performance has been increased by 150% to 500% from today's industry standards, making the valves' DC characteristics equivalent to AC pressure and flow values.

Customers now can operate a solenoid solely on DC power, greatly simplifying and cost reducing their field wiring schemes.

This capability also ends the need for costly AC-power control cards.

"RedHat Next Generation products incorporate world-class electronics to generate a dramatic reduction in power usage and set new benchmarks for efficiency, reliability, and total cost of ownership", said Robert Kemple, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Asco Valve.

"In rigorous qualification and environmental stress tests, we simulated operation over 5 years without any product failures".

"The Next Generation technology more than lives up to Asco's reputation for producing innovative and highly-reliable products", Kemple said.

RedHat Next Generation valves are ideal for customers who prefer DC-powered valves or for those using DC-powered field networks and desiring higher performance valves.

In addition, the valves offer dramatically reduced power requirements in AC-voltage applications.

The RedHat Next Generation valve's minimal power draw can reduce the size or prolong the life of power supplies.

When mounted in cabinets, the valves' lower operating temperatures may eliminate the need for fan ventilation.

The Next Generation technology incorporates built-in surge suppression that protects both the solenoid coil and system electrical controls.

This feature also eliminates inductive spikes generated by the solenoid, greatly lengthening the lives of mechanical or solid-state switches and ending the need for external snubber circuits.

"The valve's unique capability to accept both AC and DC power without losing functionality or performance enables users to apply it across a large number of applications", said Kemple.

"This exceptional flexibility means one version of the valve can be used throughout a plant or across a global manufacturing network, simplifying and minimising inventory requirements".

The new valves are offered in three voltage ranges covering most electrical requirements - 100-240V AC or DC, 24-99V AC or DC, or 12-24V DC.

RedHat Next Generation products include two-, three- and four-way solenoid valves for most fluid control applications.
