Ampacet Europe, the leading independent supplier of masterbatches for polyolefin applications, is introducing the following products at K 2001 on Stand 4B55, Hall 04.

190895 (thermostabilised 40% finely dispersed small particle-size 'P'-type carbon black) for high-quality black blown and cast polyethylene films.

Offers jet-blackness and high opacity for cosmetics, FDA-approved and related applications.

110971 (60% TiO2 in a LDPE matrix) ensures high titanium dioxide dispersion for quality thin-gauge white film.

Extensive laboratory tests have demonstrated its contribution to die build-up prevention and improved film surface appearance.

101816 minimises the tendencies of traditional antiblocking agents to impair the optical properties of clear film, especially thin-gauge film.

Suited to industrial polyethylene structures where the highest clarity is required and particularly effective when used in thin-skin layers of co-extruded structures.

190892-I (60% medium particle-size 'SRF'-type carbon black) for competitive black film applications.

Despite its high carbon content, it maintains a sufficient fluidity for ease of use.

101820 (20% mineral antiblock-filled) provides a cost-effective alternative to natural silica with very similar properties.

A 50% loaded version, 101830, is also available.

190826-HP (40% highly dispersed small particle-size 'P'-type carbon black in a LLDPE matrix) for agricultural film, especially bale wrap.

Provides high opacity and excellent weathering characteristics.

A related grade, 190826-HT, offers exceptional heat stability.

11109-D (72% specific titanium dioxide in a LDPE matrix) for white silage film.

Offers high weatherability, excellent resistance to sunlight and low moisture pickup upon storage.

Contains no UV inhibitor.

110390-A (UV-stabilised, 60% highly weatherable titanium dioxide LDPE/LLDPE) for thin white stretch film for bale wrapping.

Features excellent pigment dispersion and contains a full stabilisation package, including hindered amine light stabilisers and antioxidants.

190900-S (highly dispersed 40% small particle-size 'P'-type carbon black in LDPE) for high-quality black protective film.

Provides opacity and optimum carbon black dispersion.

Related grades are 190844-S, which offers exceptional heat stability in severe processing conditions, and 190811-S, a thermostabilised version with very low sulphur content.

Ampacet 190812-S (40% finely dispersed medium particle size 'SRF'-type carbon black in a LDPE matrix) provides an alternative when opacity is less important.

17977-S Green, 160590-S Blue and 15936-S Red offer outstanding pigment dispersion for coloured protective film.

Other colour masterbatches for protective or thin-gauge film are available on request.

111070 (70% TiO2 in a LLDPE carrier) minimises the formation of die build-up on medium and thick film (above 40 æm).

Ampacet 111126 (60% TiO2 in a LDPE matrix) does the same job in blow-moulding applications.

100998-A (5% fluorinated processing aid) suppresses melt fracture and prevents formation of die build-up in heavily pigmented applications such as highly opaque white blown film.

100458-E (3% fluorinated processing aid in LLDPE) offers superior heat resistance in high-temperature processes such as cast film production.

CLEAR 05 (10305-A) is a highly efficient clarifying masterbatch for polypropylene homopolymer in a variety of processes: sheet extrusion, thermoforming, cast film extrusion, injection and blow moulding.

Improved crystallisation temperature and rate ensure lower haze values.

Used in the range 1-5%, it permits increased outputs with constant optical or mechanical properties.

OPTI 45 (401818) contains a very efficient whitening agent which, when used typically in the range 0.5-2%, offers excellent results in cast and oriented polypropylene film.

TASC (400505), a polymeric antiblock on a polypropylene random copolymer matrix, is designed for quality heat-sealable OPP film where very low COF values and excellent optics are essential.

Requires very low concentrations in both skin layers.

Ampacet TASC 25 (401825), a double-concentration grade, is also available.

SEABLOCK 43 (401543), a new generation organic antiblock, offers considerable COF reduction, good antiblocking and excellent optical properties in very low HSIT industrial OPP film applications with good hot-tack properties.

TASC 30 (401730), a polymeric antiblock, does the same job for food applications.

Both are based on a new generation of polypropylene random terpolymer.

As they are free of migratory additives, they can also be used for film for metallisation.

190757-A (50% medium particle-size 'SRF'-type carbon black in a blend of LDPE and LLDPE resins) ensures improved surface appearance of 'short-life' black drip irrigation pipe as well as enhancement of heat resistance.

100099-B (for indoor use, e.g warehouses) and 101412 (for outdoor storage of materials) are designed for applications where a high degree of UV absorption is needed to protect packaged goods from harmful radiation.

Neither grade protects the film itself, but acts as a UV barrier.

Both are non-migratory, so their effectiveness is unimpaired over time.

They also have a minimal influence on the optics of the film, with haze values kept to a minimum.

101546-A, a highly active agent-loaded antifog masterbatch (30%) for the polyethylene antifog film market.

Very effective in preventing fog formation in food packaging film.

101814 is an antioxidant masterbatch designed to prevent oxidation in high-temperature processes - not only in polyethylene but also in polypropylene where it affords excellent Melt Index stability.

Especially recommended for pigmented formulations.

Ampacet masterbatches are compatible with many resin systems, including all densities of polyethylene, polypropylene (homopolymer and copolymer), olefin copolymers (EEA, EVA, EMA), terpolymers, ionomers and styrenics.

Additive masterbatches include antistatics, slip additives, UV inhibitors and absorbers, antioxidants, antiblocking agents, flame retardants, foaming agents, processing aids and antifog agents.

Other Ampacet products are polystyrene and speciality polypropylene masterbatches (for biaxially oriented polypropylene film - BOPP) and a broad range of masterbatches that comply with current food contact regulations.

The company operates 13 production sites in eight countries around the world and four R and D centres.

Ampacet Europe operates a highly automated plant with the most modern equipment in Messancy, Belgium, and a second in Telgate, Italy.
