Ampacet Corporation has added a new production line at its plant in Heath, Ohio, increasing the site's custom colour masterbatch capacity by 20%.

Products made by the new twin-screw line will be used to service the company's rigid packaging markets, mainly in blow and injection moulding applications.

The added capacity enables the plant to better service its growing demand for rapid turn around of custom colours.

"The expansion of our Heath facility will help us meet the growing demand for colour masterbatches among packagers, especially for polyolefin moulded caps, closures and containers", says Doug Brownfield, Strategic Business Manager.

"This investment reflects our commitment to the consumer packaging market".

"It also supports our service-driven strategy, enhances masterbatch quality and reinforces the plant's overall speed-to-market focus".

The new line is another step in Ampacet's ongoing commitment to expand the Heath site to a rapid-turnaround "service centre" for custom colour masterbatch.

The company has more than doubled the plant's original size and added such capabilities as multiple custom colour lines, a full-colour laboratory, a three-layer blow moulding machine, and injection moulding machines for evaluating consumer rigid packaging components and other packaging systems.
