Portescap's new products include a tiny 8mm diameter motor which delivers 50% more torque than other motors of similar size, and a range of miniature planetary gearboxes
At the 2001 Drives and Controls Exhibition, Portescap, a Danaher Motion Components Group company, is devoting its stand entirely to the wide range of innovative new products which the organisation has introduced in recent months.
These include, for example, a tiny 8mm diameter motor which delivers 50% more torque than other motors of similar size, and a range of miniature planetary gearboxes, available with ratios from 4:1 to 4096:1.
Also on show for the first time are the 16mm DC motors which easily match the performance of conventional 22mm units, economical plastic-bodied spur gearboxes, and three new brushless 22mm motors which offer exceptionally long life, combined with running speeds of up to 50,000 rpm.
All products are on display, and are available for visitors to inspect and examine.
In view of the very small size of many of the items, magnifying glasses are also available! To provide visitors with the maximum opportunity to discover how Portescap products can produce benefits in their own applications, the stand is themed to address the special needs of four key market sectors - medical equipment, security and access control, instrumentation, and industrial automation.
Throughout the exhibition, experts from the UK and from Portescap's Swiss headquarters, are on hand to provide advice and technical information relating to these and other application areas.
Visitors to the exhibition, who wish to see not only the newest products from Portescap, but also the organisation's extensive range of existing products, may do so by visiting the stand of Portescap's principal UK distributor, Trident.
The Trident stand, number E8, is conveniently located just a few metres away from Portescap's own stand.
Portescap is a subsidiary of the Danaher Motion Components Group, a part of the multinational Danaher Corporation, and is a world leader in the development and manufacture of motion control products.
These include servo motors and drives, stepper motors and drives, gearboxes, resolver and encoder feedback devices, and electromagnetic brakes and clutches.
The organisation has particular expertise in the area of precision miniature devices for applications in medicine, commerce and industry.
