Displacement transducers in control

An Applied Measurements product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 7, 2002

Applied Measurements now offers a comprehensive series of LVDT displacement transducers from Monitran.

To complement its existing range of transducers and instrumentation for load, pressure and torque measurement, Applied Measurements now offers a comprehensive series of LVDT displacement transducers from Monitran.

Hundreds of models are available covering most industrial and scientific applications where displacement, position, gap, movement or proximity are needed to be measured or controlled.

Typical uses include test rigs, process plant control, paper mills, actuator feedback signals, aerospace and automotive tests, dimensional gauging etc.

The AML displacement transducers fall into three main categories of miniature, standard and industrial.

Over these series, measurement ranges from +/-0.5 to +/-550mm are available with output choices of mV AC, 0-5V DC, 4-20mA and +/-2.5V DC.

For robustness, all models are manufactured in stainless steel with optional waterproofing to IP68, armoured cable, axial cable outlet, integral connector, higher temperature versions, plus a custom design service.

For a complete calibrated measuring system, Applied Measurements also supplies associated instrumentation including the LVDTA-1 analogue conditioning unit and the ADP15, a microprocessor-based digital readout instrument with versatile signal conditioning control.
