Transducers offer economical torque measurement

An Applied Measurements product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 29, 2007

Rotary torque transducers are suitable for use on test stands, machines in industry, aerospace, marine and the laboratory.

The new range of rotary torque transducers from Applied Measurements provide an economical solution to rotary torque measurement.

With prices starting from as low as GBP 980, they are designed primarily for use on test stands, machines in industry, aerospace, marine and the laboratory.

Covering ranges from 0-0.2Nm to 0-80kNm these transducers use either conventional slip rings or for high speed applications, brushless transmission, enabling torque to be measured at up to 20,000rev/min.

Mechanical coupling options include keyed shafts, square drives, flanges and combined shaft and flange versions.

Output signal options include standard bridge millivolt output or higher level amplified voltage (0-5 or 0-10V DC) or current (4-20mA).

In addition to their torque measuring capability, some models incorporate speed measuring devices to permit the direct calculation of power in addition to torque and rotational speed.

To facilitate a complete installation a comprehensive range of digital and analogue instrumentation is offered including system calibration and certification to UKAS standards.
