Recorder has FDA regulations covered
The large screen InformIT SM3000 multipoint videographic recorder offers one of the widest range of security, recording and display features available in a single unit.
The large screen InformIT SM3000 multipoint videographic recorder offers one of the widest range of security, recording and display features available in a single unit Fully compliant with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 regulations concerning electronic process data collection, the SM3000 is ideal for pharmaceutical, food and beverage, water treatment and power applications requiring an advanced multipoint paperless recorder
Standard security features include the ability to configure and allocate multiple users with individual password and access rights.
There is also the option of an internal security switch protected by a tamper-proof seal preventing unauthorised personnel from altering the recorder configuration.
Data integrity is further protected by an internal audit trail, which logs any configuration changes made and records who made the changes and when, as well as the details of all datafiles created and many other events key to process data security, such as calibration changes.
Added measures to protect the security of archived data are also included in ABB's DataManager analysis software, which automatically checks the integrity of the binary encoded datafiles to ensure the data collected is valid.
This software enables easy downloading and analysis of all process data files recorded by an InformIT SM series recorder.
Thanks to a new feature which automatically collates the recorded data into a ready-to-use database, operators can now simply select the data and time period they want to review.
The SM3000's 8Mbyte on board solid-state Flash memory can store 2.8 million samples of data, which can be archived to solid state SmartMedia and Compact Flash memory cards (16-128Mbit) and easily transferred to a PC.
Protection against mechanical failure is guaranteed by the absence of any moving parts, whilst the use of Flash memory technology means the SM3000 does not rely on batteries to preserve stored data during a power failure.
The inclusion of Ethernet communications as a standard feature in the SM3000 enables stored data to be accessed both remotely and securely, making it suitable for large sites using multiple recorders, or for applications with dispersed sites, such as in the water and waste treatment industry.
The SM3000 also features an embedded web server, providing online access to web pages created within the recorder containing details of real-time process data.
Using the SM3000, data can be recorded from up to 36 channels from analogue, digital and Modbus inputs.
These data can be displayed in a variety of formats, with strip and circular chart, bargraph and process views all included as standard.
The clarity of the SM3000's 30cm backlit colour display means the information can be easily read, even at a distance from the unit.
Full IP66 and NEMA 4X front face protection make the SM3000 suitable for use in hosedown environments and applications subject to high levels of dust and humidity.
The SM3000 can also operate without disruption caused by interference in high-electrical noise environments, thanks to industrial standard noise emission and immunity protection.
As with all ABB SM series videographic recorders, the SM3000 is simple to configure and operate.
All commands and information are presented in a familiar Windows-based environment, enabling operators to get up and running quickly.
Configuration can be conducted while the unit is online, via the SM3000's keypad, or offline using a standard PC.
