Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 8, 2003

A new comprehensive instrumentation supply and service network has been created by ABB to serve customers throughout the UK.

A new comprehensive instrumentation supply and service network has been created by ABB to serve customers throughout the UK.

The ABB Instrumentation Alliance comprises five partners and will back up ABB's portfolio of instrumentation products to provide customers with unrivalled levels of availability, delivery and support.

Each ABB Instrumentation Alliance partner has been carefully selected to ensure that customers in every part of the UK will enjoy the same high levels of service and support.

The ABB Instrumentation Alliance consists of JW Fairbairn in Scotland, Slater Drive Systems in Northumberland, WH Good in Lancashire, AM Sensors in Somerset and KC Controls in West Sussex.

All these companies can be contacted by phone, fax or email or through the new Instrumentation Alliance website at www.abbiap.com.

"We are now able to provide everyone, wherever they are in the UK, with equal access to any of our instrumentation products, backed by easy ordering, rapid delivery, training programmes, on-site support and ready availability of spares and repairs", says Steve Hughes, ABB Instrumentation Alliance manager.

"Every one of our partners has been trained to ensure that customers receive the same levels of support as they would if they were dealing with ABB directly".

The ABB Instrumentation Alliance offers fast, efficient delivery to anywhere in the UK.

Many products stocked by the ABB Instrumentation Alliance are part of ABB's Assist Direct programme, which guarantees that orders placed in mainland UK before 12 midday will be delivered within 24 hours.

Any items of equipment that are not stocked by one partner can be readily sourced from throughout the network.

Each ABB Instrumentation Alliance partner is able to provide help and guidance with installing and commissioning instrumentation equipment.

ABB Instrumentation Alliance partners are able to assist with health checks on installed instrumentation equipment, the results of which can be used to draw up preventative maintenance plans and identify and rectify potential problems.

An extensive range of training courses is available through each ABB Instrumentation Alliance partner, covering topics such as product familiarisation and usage, installation and commissioning, fault finding and how to meet the latest relevant legislation and standards.

The new ABB Instrumentation Alliance website provides information about products and services available from ABB Instrumentation Alliance partners, together with details on how to contact them.

The site can also be used to download brochures and other technical documentation and has many useful links to other ABB and external sites.

"The creation of the ABB Instrumentation Alliance marks the next step in the development of our sales and support network and provides our customers with greater access to ABB, its products and services", says Hughes.
