The new FieldIT 2600T pressure transmitter series offers one of the most complete ranges of pressure measurement equipment currently available.

The new FieldIT 2600T pressure transmitter series offers one of the most complete ranges of pressure measurement equipment currently available.

A vast selection of options, including basic model types, materials, working pressure, fill fluids, remote seal options and communications standards, enables the 2600T series to offer a host of customisable pressure transmitter solutions for a host of applications.

Options within the 2600T range include a multivariable transmitter offering a three-in-one solution for the measurement of flows of liquids, steam or gas with absolute pressure and temperature compensation.

As well as an absolute pressure sensor for measuring process pressure and a differential pressure sensor for flow measurement, the multivariable version can also be fitted with an optional external temperature sensor.

The combination of these different measurements enables users to select appropriate accuracies for their applications ranging from 0.04, 0.075 or 0.15%.

Incorporating three different forms of measurement into one unit can also significantly reduce installation costs savings on installation through the need for fewer devices and a reduction in the amount of cabling and I/O devices required.

With a nominal operating pressure of up to 400bar and a differential pressure measuring range of 0.5mbar to 100bar, the 2600T multivariable transmitter is ideal for high-end process automation applications.

A high static working pressure option is available for power plants, pipelines and oil and gas applications.

In addition, the 2600T can also be used for measuring gauge or absolute pressure between 2mbar and 600bar.

As well as the multivariable model, versions are also available for measuring differential pressure, gauge and liquid level.

For integral safety applications, the FieldIT safety pressure transmitter 2600T meets the SIL2 and SIL3 requirements for the use of pressure measurement devices in hazardous applications including the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and oil and gas industries.

As well as being certified to IEC61508 and ISA S84.01, the transmitter also meets the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) category IV compliance for mechanical integrity.

Available already TUV certified, the 2600T safety pressure transmitter eliminates the need for users to obtain independent evaluation.

The safety pressure transmitter version also includes built-in dual redundancy, which ensures that the transmitter can continue to function in the event of failure of one of the sensor inputs.

A microcontroller constantly compares two independent pressure signals - in the event of failure, the transmitter will automatically be switched to a safe condition.

All transmitters within the 2600T range are available with a choice of communications standards including Hart/4-20 mA, Profibus, Modbus and Foundation Fieldbus.

Based on ABB's IndustrialIT platform, all equipment within the 2600T series can be used with other ABB IndustrialIT enabled products to form part of a complete process system.

The 2600T series also includes ABB's wide choice of welded remote seals for use in applications involving extreme temperatures or highly corrosive or viscous fluids which could affect the performance of a standard transmitter.

Each remote seal is available with a choice of fill fluids for extreme temperature applications, as well as specific diaphragm materials suitable for measuring corrosive and viscous fluids.

Distinct remote seal versions are available with process connections for specific pulp and paper, sanitary and aseptic applications, together with traditional flange, threaded and wafer connections.
