Oil and gas industry portfolio on show
in Aberdeen
ABB will demonstrate its systems, products and services for the oil and gas industry at Offshore Europe 2005.
ABB will demonstrate its systems, products and services for the oil and gas industry at Offshore Europe 2005 Situated on Stand 633, visitors will see an integrated display highlighting ABB's many skills that it brings to the industry for both surface and subsurface applications
Held from 6th to 9th September in the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, the centrepiece to the 68m2 stand will be an extended operator control console that can be used for the entire range of control functions as well as the gathering and integration of management information to improve the efficiency and productivity of offshore facilities.
The operator workstation will be exhibited alongside seven other ABB products and service areas.
These include ABB's leading drives, motors and low voltage products and systems, and will include the UK launch of a new intelligent motor control centre, the MNS-iS.
Instrumentation products particularly applicable to offshore environments will include a new range of liquid and gas flow meters specifically designed and engineered for sea-bed operations.
The display will also incorporate a range of field devices for measuring temperature and pressure.
Highlighting ABB's extensive industry coverage will be a demonstration of the features and benefits of OptimiseIT Active Flow Line Control.
This system controls and stabilises multiphase flow in gathering systems, risers and flow lines.
It is currently the only active control solution in the market for mitigation of terrain-induced slugs.
OptimiseIT Active Flowline Control prevents flow and pressure surges and smoothes the flow without increasing line backpressure.
An ABB Resibloc cast resin distribution transformer and a medium voltage model ZVC switchgear cubicle will be on the stand to illustrate ABB's extensive capabilities in offshore power and electrification.
The Resibloc transformer is designed to provide the ultimate mechanical strength to withstand thermal and mechanical stresses from severe climates, cycling loads and short circuit forces.
They are made with bespoke winding coils so that they can be fitted precisely within very limited space constraints.
The stand will also highlight ABB's extensive portfolio of engineering services.
These include automation retrofit services such as management information systems, system and product specification and plant optimisation.
Also on display will be the range of project solution services available, from consultancy and project management through to engineering and construction management.
To complete the portfolio, ABB will illustrate its full range of services from installation and commissioning through to after sales and full service support.
ABB has extensive experience of working offshore to minimise risks to personnel, the environment and the plant; to help ensure maximum plant uptime; and to achieve minimum planned downtime by working closely with operators.
Notes ABB: "We are striving to serve our customers better and believe that our ability to provide an integrated range of solutions, products and services from a single source is unique".
